Added a Solution for Precision Angle Measurement on Rough Surfaces
We sincerely appreciate your continued support of Katsura Opto-Systems.
Until now, Katsura Opto-Systems has primarily focused on angle measurements of mirror-finished and polished metal surfaces. We are pleased to announce that we have added a Solution for Precision Angle Measurement on Rough (Unpolished) Surfaces.
Background
On unpolished metal surfaces, laser light tends to scatter, making high-precision angle measurements with conventional laser autocollimators difficult.
Solution
We use a thin, lightweight glass plate such as a cover glass and apply water or oil to one side to create a “water-bonded” surface on the metal. This forms an optically flat measurement surface, suppressing light scattering and providing a stable reflective surface. As a result, high-precision angle measurements using a laser autocollimator are now possible even on unpolished metal surfaces.
Features and Benefits
Can be implemented easily without special equipment
Enables high-precision angle measurements on unpolished metal surfaces
Improves measurement accuracy, contributing to quality control and process optimization
This method allows for simple and effective improvement of measurement accuracy without the need for special equipment, making it applicable in a wide range of manufacturing environments.
