This time, we would like to introduce
a method to realize \u201cangle measurement of unpolished surfaces such as metals\u201d using an autocollimator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Normally, it is difficult to make accurate measurements with an autocollimator on unpolished metal surfaces because the laser beam is scattered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, a simple modification can solve this problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the method?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A thin, lightweight glass plate, such as cover glass, is sprayed on one side with water or oil to
\u201cwaterproof\u201d the metal surface, creating an optically flat measurement surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ensures that the laser beam is not scattered and has a stable reflective surface.
High-precision measurement with a laser autocollimator is
possible even on unpolished metal surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
